Your Media Access Control (MAC) address is a unique identifier distinct from your IP address assigned to your computer. At FIU, we register the MAC address on a device to allow access to the FIU network and internet. To find your MAC address for your Apple computer, follow the steps below.
To find your MAC address:
From the Apple menu, select System Preferences...
On System Preferences, select Network.
On the Network window, click the name of your connection (e.g., Wi-Fi, AirPort, Ethernet, Built-in Ethernet). Click Advanced...
Select Hardware, Ethernet, or AirPort tab. Your MAC address will be the string of letters and numbers next to MAC Address, Ethernet ID, or AirPort ID.
Once you have your MAC address, click OK to exit out of this window.
